SOCES is a California Distinguished school and is listed as a National Gold-Rated school, ranked #5 in the LAUSD and #65 in California by US News and World Reports.
SOCES offers extensive AP classes and college credit classes at the high school level, as well as a robust AVID program, award-winning Robotics Team, Athletic Teams, Academic Decathlon Team, Computer Science CTE Program, Culinary CTE Program, Speech and Debate Team, and a variety of clubs.
The school's philosophy is that parents and members of the community have the opportunity to share in the educational development of the students. Parents are encouraged to become involved at school.
SOCES offers creative, stimulating, and innovative experiences that offer their diverse community of learners the essential skills, knowledge, and ethical frameworks to address real-world problems.
They produce graduates who value lifelong learning and achieve their personal and professional goals by creating positive social change in their families, workplaces, communities, and the global economy.
Their mission is to develop future citizens with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs.
