Staff Bio

India Bown has been in journalism since freshman year and quickly received a higher position second semester of freshman year/sophomore year. She first had an editor in chief position, where she would edit the layout of the newspaper and revise articles. Currently, as a junior, her job as executive editor allows her to manage the yearbook, journalism, and media sections, taking on the more administrative side of the class. She hopes to gain leadership experience from the class because her goal is to become a journalist in real life. Along with her passion for writing, she enjoys different clubs at school including, Media club, SOCES students for peace, and recently joined Bottles for Good.






Harrison Pomerantz, the local beauty of SOCES first took the Journalism class in his freshman year of High School.  After a year and a half of endless writing, he finally made it to a layout editor position. This marked the end of his days of writing.  He has since retired and only comes out of retirement for certain English assignments. Samantha Andalon, a senior and Editor in chief of Journalism joined the class in 10th grade, and says, “ it was one of the best decisions I have made throughout my high school career”. It is here that she discovered her passion for photography, and have been able to develop characteristics of a leader, as she took on the role of editor in chief of photography and Journalism. This class has given Sam the opportunity to work on not only the newspaper and yearbook but also in creating a community where creativity and an open mind are always welcomed. Aside from her work in Media, she is also involved in Latinos Unidos and plays softball.






Kathrynnn Huynh is the website editor of the SOCES journalism class. Through this class, she has been able to develop new skills with website design and editing. With this position, Kathrynn states “Since I have been in this class since freshman year, I have been able to meet new people and grow with people who enjoy the same activities as I do.”
