Throughout the school year, students face many expenses such as lunch fees, AP test costs, and many more. The cost of these necessary items add up, but for qualifying students there is an easy way to avoid most of these fees. It is required by the school district for every student, one per siblings attending the same school, to fill out a lunch application every new school year. The most important reason for these applications is for the state to determine the income of every family. Once the application is submitted, students who qualify for free-reduced lunch also receive assistance in other matters. These accommodations also include: reduced AP test costs and fee waivers for the SAT, ACT, and subject tests. To see if you can receive these benefits, be sure to fill out the LAUSD lunch application and visit the college office (Room 300) today!
As college application due dates are approaching, are you ready to find the right college for you? The College Fair Extraordinaire will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 9am to 12pm. Los Angeles Pierce College will be visited by 100 different college and university representatives from all over the country. Workshops will begin at 9:30am involving topics such as the UC application, CSU application, financial aid, and several more. After a long day of exploring various colleges and universities, enjoy a free lunch provided by the college fair. For more information about this event contact our college counselors Mrs. Haskins and Mrs. Morris in the college office.
